Local NAR Major RPAC Donor Event a Success

On April 20, NAR hosted a RPAC Major Donor event at Dutch’s Daughter. Special invitees heard from a series of speakers including FCAR RPAC Chair Steve Fox, NAR Treasurer Bill Armstrong, MAR President Elect Carlton Boujai, MAR RPAC Trustee Chair Buzz Mackintosh, NAR Fundraising Liaison Daryl Braham of North Dakota and NAR RPAC Political Director Scott Reiter.

Speakers reinforced the importance of RPAC and the importance of RPAC donations in helping to promote and protect home ownership. FCAR raised more than $4,000 for RPAC at the event. Click here to learn more about National RPAC

New Marketing tools coming from MRIS

MRIS has entered into an agreement with Imprv, Inc. to create an improved marketing center to enhance members ability integrate MRIS data with various marketing tools. Historic Preservation Law and Procedures

Hello to all you wonderful Professional REALTORS and Affiliates of FCAR!

Yes, it is time for a Historic Preservation update from Kathryn serving as your representative/commissioner to “The Historic Preservation Commission of Frederick County.”

I have an announcement about a fantastic opportunity for you coming up on May 31, 2012. The Maryland Association of Historic District Commissions, otherwise known as MAHDC, is offering a class on a class on “Historic Preservation Law and Procedures.”

The class is being taught by Fred Stachura, who is a preservation and attorney. He will be discussing legal issues, demolition by neglect and other topics. The class will be held at the Frederick City Court Parking Deck in the Municipal Office Annex, Room C, from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, on May 31, 2012. Click here to download the application. American Home Month Project Day May 10, 2012

The annual American Home Month community service project allows FCAR to help a local homeowner in need. This year, we will be working on improvements to a property in Brunswick, Maryland. The property address is 406 9^th Avenue. We are still in need of sponsorships to cover the costs of the project. And we are looking for volunteers to help us on Project Day! Breakfast and lunch will be provided and there will be raffles throughout the day. This is a wonderful way to participate in a worthy project, volunteer in our community and provide assistance to a local homeowner to help make needed repairs. Help FCAR win the State CARE Award – Deadline May 15, 2012

Every year the Maryland Association of REALTORS honors local REALTOR associations for outstanding community service efforts. The winners of the CARE Award (Community Action and REALTOR Excellence) receive monetary funds to be donated to the local association’s charity of choice. FCAR won the award in 2003, 2004 and 2007 and we are ready to win it again!

FCAR is now collecting data on our REALTOR members volunteer efforts between June 2011-June 2012. This is not just what you do for FCAR – this data should reflect what you do for your community! All of your volunteer efforts should be recorded. Deadline for submitting data is May 15, 2012.

Help us show the state all the great work REALTORS do for Frederick County! Submitting your data is quick and easy.
