FCAR holds several In-House Continuing Education Classes each Month
Classes are led by professional instructors that meet the Maryland Real Estate Commission (MREC) Continuing Education Requirements. Courses are taught in FCAR’s classroom at its office located at 478 Prospect Blvd., in the Weis Festival Shopping Center in Frederick. FCAR’s new classroom will comfortably seat 60+ classroom-style complete with laptop, projection unit, PA system and free wireless Internet for use by instructors and students.
Regular course offerings include: MD Real Estate Code of Ethics, MREC Agency-Commercial, MREC Agency – Residential, and Understanding the Contract of Sale. For a schedule of upcoming in-house course offerings and meetings:

To cancel a class that you have already registered for please use the class cancellation form.
Student Course Cancellation:
3 Hours or Less – All FCAR real estate continuing education courses of Three (3) hours in length or less shall have a $10.00 cancellation fee deducted from the refund. The cancellation shall be received by FCAR, in writing, NO LATER THAN Two (2) business days prior to the start of the subject class/course otherwise NO refund will be granted.
NOTE: Effective February 2017:
Anyone that registered for a class and does not show up for that class, WITHOUT notifying FCAR the day prior to the class, will be charged $25.00. The charge will be made directly to their FCAR account. Please be respectful by calling ahead so those on the waitlist can fill the space.
FCAR now offers On-Line Continuing Education Classes through The CE Shop!

Informed Professionals Classes
These FREE and non-CE seminars are designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of FCAR members. Recent Informed Professional Series topics are: Tax Strategies for the Real Estate Professional, Understanding New Home Construction, Using Social Media Effectively, and Networking based on the “Little Black Book of Connections.” Informed Professional series are held the third Wednesday of each month from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Click here to keep up with the latest classes from the Informed Professionals Committee.
FCAR Policy Regarding Inclement Weather
The FCAR Office follows the policy of the Frederick County Public School (FCPS) system for inclement weather. If FCPS Schools are closed, the Association office will be closed. If FCPS Schools are delayed opening, the Association office hours will be delayed accordingly and any meetings, classes or events planned during the delayed hours will be canceled. Canceled education classes will be rescheduled if possible. Please call 301-663-0757 to confirm. A message will be available on FCAR’s website (www.fcar.org) by 8:30 a.m.
